Position Summary

Under limited supervision, the High Speed integrated circuit ASIC Design Engineer will be responsible for performing a variety of routine to complex duties to support the design, development, and manufacturing of integrated circuits with high speed interconnect applications.  The IC Design Engineer will work with an ASIC Applications Engineer to understand Aeroflex customer system requirements during IC design to achieve customer system integration and first-pass success of their systems.
Requirements

  • IC Design Engineer with high speed I/O detailed circuit design experience (SerDes, SSTL, HSTL, LVDS, etc…).  
  •  Experienced with design of high speed I/O in 90nm or below.
  • Evaluate third party IP and prepare technical trade-offs to support make/buy decisions.
  • Develop technical specifications for high speed I/O IP.
  • Perform circuit design and simulation / verification for Rad Hard High Speed I/O IP.
  • Direct circuit layout resources to provide high reliability Rad Hard IP macros.
  • Perform pre and post layout simulation. 
  • Thorough understanding of ESD and Latchup design rules and techniques.
  • Understanding of reliability / aging effects (EM, NBTI, HCI, and Radiation Effects) and able to design to mitigate those effects.
  • Demonstrated success converting requirements into silicon.

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree (BS) from a four year college or university and experience in High speed I/O Circuit Design, CMOS layout, SPICE simulations and understanding of layout effects.

U.S. person (citizenship or green card holder) status is required due to ITAR requirements.
