Using PXI to Characterize Amplifier EVM Increases Speed and Accuracy
In the July issue of Electronic Products, Aeroflex's Tim Culligan writes about how to use PXI to characterize amplifier error vector magnitude (EVM) performance, which is necessary to ensure proper amplifier-circuit operation in digital communication applications. RF modular PXI instruments configured for this application have proven to be an accurate, high-speed solution for performing the many iterative measurements necessary for EVM characterization.

PXI 3000 Series Adds 3 GHz Modular Digital RF Signal Generator
Aeroflex recently announced the new 3020C PXI Modular Digital RF Signal Generator, a 3 GHz variant to the growing PXI signal generator line. Ideal for RF engineers performing communications test, the new 3020C covers the frequency range of 1 MHz to 3 GHz, supporting applications in high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) bands.

Enhanced ACP mode (EACP) for 3410 Series When testing an amplifier or receiver and you are searching for the last dB or so of dynamic range, be it for the lowest intermodulation products, best ACP performance or maximum sensitivity, any improvement can be desirable. By modifying the gain distribution in the RF output chain, EACP mode provides an alternative RF mode which can further improve the already outstanding intermodulation and ACP performance of the 3410 Series Digital RF Signal Generator.
